Position Scale 0 - 110?

Dear Professor Sprinz,

I am writing to you with a question regarding the updated position scale for Assignments #1 and #2. In your recent update, you proposed a scale from 0 to 110, where 110 is equivalent to 450 Mt CO2eq.

Based on my understanding of the literature on the Predictionee's Game, the position scale typically ranges from 0 to 100. I am unsure whether a value of 110 would be even compatible with the model.

Still, as the actor I am covering would be assigned rather to the 110 position than the 100 position - which has a logical reason and is not about the number itself, I will explain this in my presentation - I would like to ask you to you clarify:

Would it be possible to use 110 on the position scale in a justified case?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Lars-Frederik Grunwald

Dear Mr. Grunwald,

you should all use the position scale as published with the assignment.

There is no technical requirement for the position scale to be in the range of [0, 100] (as opposed to some other scales, see my presentation files for Module 2-4). I used the range [0, 110] to introduce some non-linearity on both ends of the scale.

Best wishes,
