The University of Potsdam offers you a wide range of IT services. ZIM (= Zentrum für Informationstechnologie und Medienmanagement) is responsible for these services.
When you begin your studies, you’ll receive an UP-Account, that allows you to use all the important IT services. These include, for example:
Mail.UP | email server (important: check your Mail.UP account regularly or set up a forward to your personal email account so you don’t miss any important UP emails!)
WLAN/ eduroam | university-wide free WiFi (which, by the way, also works at other universities in Germany and abroad that support eduroam)
Through ZIM, you can also obtain certain campus software licenses, use the computer labs on campus, and participate in tutorials. ZIM has summarized the most important information for you.
